On 26/02/2020 The Irish Heritage Centre in Manchester hosted their bi-monthly Walking Football Tournament. A great occasion for a number of teams around the Manchester area to compete against one another. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience despite merely spectating and great to meet some of the lads currently playing.
Walking Football is a slow-paced version of the beautiful game. The rules are adapted so there is no running (perhaps the occasional burst) and minimum contact. With less stress on the body and no sudden change of direction the game allows participants to play without apprehension and at their own pace. Playing the game at walking pace is a fantastic way to keep fit, reduces chance of injury and a great way to meet new, like minded people.
All are welcome. If you would be keen to give it a try, dust off your boots and contact the office for more information – firstname.lastname@example.org
